이태원임에도 불구하고 주변지역에 비해 건축적, 문화적으로 쇠퇴를 이루고 있는 지역이다. 역사를 자랑하는 거리이지만, 그 명성이 오히려 발전의 발목을 붙잡는 이유가 되었고, 시대적 흐름에 발맞추지 못함과 시민들의 수요를 파악하지 못한거리로 변해가고 있었다.

이 거리에 주변환경과 알맞는 거리적 수준과 시민들의 수요에 대한 공급, 명칭에 알맞는 거리조성으로 거리만의 개성과 문화를 확보하며, 거리적 역사를 유지해 나가는것이 이 프로젝트의 목표이다.

가구거리의 주된 사거리와 골목길의 형태를 가져와 건축형태를 형상시켰고, 이로인해 이 건축물 자체가 이태원가구거리를 계승하는 하나의 수단으로 전략할 수 있었다.

The purpose of this project is to maintain the distance history by supplying the city with a distance level that matches the surrounding environment and the needs of the citizens, and securing the individuality and culture of the distance to create a city that matches the name. Is.

Bringing the main range of furniture streets and the shape of the alleys, shaping the form of the building, which allows the building itself to be strategic as a means of inheriting the distance of furniture in Itaewon.
