 <Prologue>

 한국 전쟁 이후 많은 인구가 서울로 몰려들어 무허기 핀자촌들이 건설되자  서울시에서는 이를 철거하며 주택부족 해결 방안으로 대규모 주택공급 정책 사업을 시행히였다. 이 ‘시민 아파트’사업은 대규모 주택 사업인 만큼 단기간에 많이 건설하는게 특징이다.  그렇게 약 400여 동의 아파트를 짓게  되었다.  이를 시작으로 한국 아파트 대중화의 서막을 올리게 된다.  그 당시에는  값이 비싸 주로 연예인, 국회의원 등이 아파트에 살았다, 그때의 아파트의 전성기가 시작된다. 하지만 시간이 흐를수록 빠르게 많이 지었던 흔적이  나타나며 하나둘 철거 되기 시작 하였고, 현재는 13동의 시민아파트 만이 존재 하고 있다. 이러한 가치를 다시 되살려 보기 위해 13동 중 한때  연예인 아파트라 불리었던 ‘회현시민아파트’에 예술을 활용하여 제 2의 전성기를 맞는 프로젝트를 진행하고자 한다.  

 <Prologue>

After the Korean War, a large number of people flocked to Seoul to build poverty-stricken villages, and the city of Seoul demolished them and implemented a large-scale housing supply policy as a solution to the housing shortage. As this 'citizen apartment' project is a large-scale housing project, it is characterized by many constructions in a short period of time. In this way, about 400 apartments were built. This is the beginning of the popularization of apartments in Korea. At that time, it was expensive and mainly celebrities and lawmakers lived in apartments, and then the heyday of apartments begins. However, as time passed, traces of many constructions appeared and began to be demolished one by one. Currently, only 13 citizen apartments exist. In order to revive these values, we plan to proceed with a project in its second heyday by using art in the ‘Hoehyeon Citizen’s Apartment’, which was once called a celebrity apartment among 13 buildings.
